High-Speed Steel (HSS) M2 DMo5 Cold Saw Blades are well-known for their durability, precision, and versatility in metal cutting applications. Whether you work in the automotive, manufacturing, or metalworking industry, these blades are designed to provide superior performance and longevity.

Choosing the correct tooth pitch and operating parameters plays a major role in cut quality, surface finish, and blade longevity. HSS M2 DMo5 cold saw blades deliver dependable results when matched to your material thickness, profile, and feed rate. Proper coolant application and routine blade maintenance also help reduce unnecessary wear, minimize burr formation, and support more consistent production across a wide range of metal cutting applications and demanding shop environments.

At Cold Saw Shop, our standard blades are HSS M2 DMo5, also known as DIN 1.3343. This is a grade of high-speed steel commonly used for cold saw blades. It is a molybdenum (Mo) and tungsten (W) alloyed steel with high wear resistance and toughness. The addition of 5% molybdenum enhances the steel's hardness and cutting efficiency, making it ideal for high-performance saw blades.

Key Properties of HSS M2 DMo5:

  • Hardness: Typically ranges between 63-65 HRC, providing excellent cutting-edge retention.
  • Wear Resistance: Enhanced by the molybdenum and tungsten content, allowing for longer blade life.
  • Toughness: Offers resistance to chipping and cracking, even under demanding cutting conditions.
