Cermet Cold Saw
Blade Calculator

Two ways in: enter your material size to find the right cermet-tipped blade, or pick your blade size to see its tooth options — for high-speed & CNC circular saws, in millimeters or inches.

Read first

These are cermet-tipped blades for high-speed & CNC circular saws — production cutting of solid steel, stainless, and tube. They run at far higher RPM and use different tooth counts than HSS cold saw blades, so don’t apply these numbers to an HSS blade. Running an HSS cold saw? Use the HSS Tooth Calculator. Not sure which machine you have? See CNC or Cold Saw — which do you have?

How to choose

Three quick rules for picking off the chart.

01

Match the size first

Find a blade whose range covers your material diameter. When your size sits near the middle of a range, that’s the most comfortable cut — we flag it as the best fit.

02

More teeth, finer finish

Higher tooth counts suit smaller solids and thin wall. Fewer teeth clear chips better and run cooler on larger diameters. Several options often overlap — pick by finish and feed.

03

Cermet runs hot and fast

Cermet tips hold an edge at the high RPM these saws run, giving clean, burr-light cuts on steel and stainless. Dial speed and feed to your machine and material — see the SFPM & RPM guide.

FAQ

Common questions about cermet blades and high-speed sawing.

Are these the same as HSS cold saw blades?
No. Cermet-tipped blades run on high-speed and CNC circular saws at much higher RPM, and they use different tooth counts and feeds. Don’t apply these numbers to an HSS cold saw blade — use the HSS Tooth Calculator for those.
What machines use cermet-tipped blades?
High-speed and CNC automatic circular saws built for production cutting — the kind that run solid steel, stainless, and tube at high feed rates. If you’re on a traditional manual cold saw, you’re on the wrong blade. Not sure? See CNC or Cold Saw — which do you have?
How do I choose the tooth count?
Start with a blade whose range covers your material diameter; a size near the middle of a range cuts most comfortably. More teeth give a finer finish on smaller or thin-wall stock; fewer teeth clear chips better on larger solids. When a few options overlap, pick by finish and feed.
What’s the difference between cermet and carbide?
Both are tipped blades for high-speed sawing. Cermet holds a keen edge at high cutting speeds for clean, burr-light cuts, especially on steel and stainless. Full breakdown here: Cermet vs. Carbide — what’s the difference?
What material sizes do these cover?
The blades listed here cover roughly 18–152 mm (0.71–5.98 in) of solid round material, depending on blade diameter and tooth count. Enter your size above to see the matches. If your size isn’t listed, we can spec one.
Can you supply or sharpen these blades?
Yes — we stock cermet and carbide blades for high-speed and CNC saws, and we sharpen and custom-grind to spec. Call (855) 729-7732 with your material and machine and we’ll get you the right blade.
