The simplest way to explain the difference between M2 DMo5 and M35 Co5 is to compare HSS drill bits with Cobalt drill bits. It's the same concept.
M2 DMo5 is the standard blade quality in the cold saw blade world for most manual and auto-fed cold saw applications. M2 is a general-purpose high-speed steel used for cutting mild to medium-carbon steels. The primary elements present in the makeup of M2 cold saw blades include Tungsten, Molybdenum, Chromium, Vanadium, Carbon, and Iron.
M35 Co5 is an upgraded raw material we use for harder-to-cut materials, such as stainless steel and titanium. The elements present in the M35 blade include all those in the M2 blade, plus Cobalt. This additional 5% of cobalt in the raw material yields a more durable cutting edge, resulting in a lower cost per cut than the M2 blades.
With all factors remaining the same in your machine and application setup, you should see at least a 2x cutting life when upgrading from an M2 blade to an M35 blade.
