Cold saws are designed to run HSS blades, not TCT. HSS (High-Speed Steel) blades match the low RPM and steady feed rate of cold saws, delivering clean, accurate cuts in steel and other metals. They can also be resharpened multiple times.
TCT (Tungsten Carbide-Tipped) blades are not suitable for cold saws. They’re built for high-speed dry saws and can chip or break under the slower, torque-heavy cutting style of a cold saw.
Bottom line: Stick with HSS blades for cold saws—they’re designed for the job.
